Monmouth College — a DIII school in Illinois — unveiled perhaps the most creative and surprising trick play this past weekend in its game versus rival Knox.
Right guard Kolton Koch took the handoff from his quarterback, rolled out to his left, and found a streaking Yansay Williams downfield for a 33-yard gain.
It helped to set up a touchdown, and Monmouth went on to win the game by a score of 59-7.
The ‘fat guy” touchdowns have been all the rage in recent years. While this wasn’t a scoring play, it may be the best one of all.
