Danny Etling has already found the end zone in his first appearance as LSU’s starting quarterback.

Etling connected with DJ Clark for a 37-yard touchdown during the Tigers’ second possession of Saturday’s game against Mississippi State.

Etling replaced Brandon Harris during the second quarter of last week’s 34-13 win over Jacksonville State. He threw a 46-yard touchdown on his first possession and finished with 100 yards, one touchdown and an interception on 6 of 14 passing.

Etling will make his first start since transferring from Purdue following the 2014 season. The redshirt junior threw for 2,490 yards, 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions during 13 appearances for the Boilermakers from 2013-14.

LSU leads Mississippi State 7-0 with 3:26 left in the first quarter.
