Longtime ESPN anchor Mike Tirico left the Worldwide Leader on June 30.

Tirico will join NBC and will reportedly call Thursday Night Football for the network later this year.

It won’t be Tirico’s first Thursday night football coverage, though. He spent eight years (1997-2005) calling college football games on Thursday nights during his time at ESPN.

He notably worked alongside Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit. He’s also covered college football with Mark Gottfried, Tim Brandt, Terry Bowden and David Norrie.

College football highlights are plentiful in this touching video tribute produced by ESPN:

Tirico joined ESPN in 1991, spending 25 years with the network. He covered a variety of sports, from college football and the NFL to the NBA, golf, soccer and tennis.

Tirico’s first big assignment with NBC will be coverage of the upcoming 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
