Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis is known for his toughness, hard hits, and vocal leadership on one of the best defenses in the NFL over the past few seasons. Though no one would every describe Davis as soft, he showed to one local youth that he has a heart as big as his biceps on Tuesday.

As reported by Charlotte’s WBTV (full video link here), Davis spent the day hanging out with 7-year-old Johnathan from Charlotte, who has Autism. In a heartwarming moment, Johnathan listed Davis as his hero on the Panthers, after saying that Jesus was his hero first and foremost.

After hearing that Johnathan’s dream was to spend a day at Davis’ house, the former Georgia Bulldog obliged. He surprised Jonathan at his school, where he gave him a jersey and let the auditorium in a chant.

From there, the pair enjoyed a day of activities that included a tour of the Panthers’ facility and palling around at Davis’ multi-million dollar home where they shot hoops and played games.
