Much like fans have to pay attention for foul balls in baseball, football fans standing on the sidelines need to be aware of players flying into them.
One fan wasn’t quick enough to move out of the way of Georgia LB Roquan Smith on Saturday and paid the price:

Fortunately, the fan doesn’t appear to be hurt. Smith showed great sportsmanship and awareness by helping the woman to her feet.
Fans, photographers and media members are often in harm’s way on the sideline. Being aware of the play on the field is crucial to avoid crushing blows like this one.
