Former Alabama DT Jarran Reed is a long way from his native North Carolina, but he felt right at home on the Safeco Field pitching mound.

It turns out the Seattle Seahawks rookie’s childhood talents extended beyond the gridiron.

“I played catcher, first base, left field, right field,” Reed told Seahawks.com. “I played everything, except for pitcher.”

Friday night he finally got to play pitcher, sporting a Seattle Mariners jersey with the same number (93) he’ll be wearing this fall with the Seahawks.

Seattle selected Reed No. 49 overall in the second round of the draft.
