LSU fans are excited about Danny Etling taking over as the team’s starting quarterback. The crowd at Tiger Stadium roared after Etling’s name was announced during pregame introductions for Saturday night’s game against Mississippi State.

Etling replaced Brandon Harris during the second quarter of last week’s 34-13 win over Jacksonville State. He threw a 46-yard touchdown on his first possession and finished with 100 yards, one touchdown and an interception on 6 of 14 passing.
Etling will make his first start since transferring from Purdue following the 2014 season. The redshirt junior threw for 2,490 yards, 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions during 13 appearances for the Boilermakers from 2013-14.
