Nick Chubb is officially back.
After missing Georgia’s last seven games, the junior back reminded fans why he’s regarded as one of the best in the nation with a 52-yard run in the fourth quarter of the Bulldogs’ season opener against North Carolina.

Chubb extended Georgia’s lead to 33-24 with 3:34 remaining. As of that point, the junior had 222 yards — which is a Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game record — and two touchdowns on 32 carries. He extended his previous record of 154 rushing yards set earlier in the game.
As a freshman, Chubb recorded 1,547 yards and 14 touchdowns on 219 carries, which was the second-highest rushing total by an SEC back and the fourth best season in Georgia history. He missed the majority of his sophomore campaign with a knee injury suffered against Tennessee on Oct. 10.
