The Charlie Strong tenure in Austin appears to be coming to an end.
It just hasn’t been a great fit between Strong and the University of Texas. The head coach has yet to get consistent results, and there’s an ever-present storm of pressure being funneled by both the fan base and disgruntled donors.
Saturday’s result didn’t help much — as Texas (5-6) lost to a lowly Kansas team. This victory helped to end a nine-game losing streak overall, a 19-game losing streak in conference play, and it also marked Kansas’ first win over Texas since 1938.
In three seasons, Strong’s overall record at Texas is 16-20. If the Longhorns are unable to win next week versus TCU, it will be the second year (out of three) in which UT has failed to qualify for a bowl game under Strong.
Via his post-game presser, one can see how Strong is feeling at this point.
