One week exactly after landing the commitment of 2018 quarterback Adrian Martinez, the nation’s No. 3 quarterback prospect, Tennessee has hit another home run on the recruiting trail by landing the commitment of in-state safety Brendon Harris.

Harris is the latest in-state player to commit to the Volunteers, as Butch Jones’ program now has three of the top five prospects and four of the top eight committed to playing on Rocky Top (three of the top eight remain uncommitted at this time).

Ranked as a four-star prospect, the nation’s No. 11 safety and the No. 5 prospect from the state of Tennessee by 247Sports, Harris chose the Vols over offers from Auburn, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson, and Ohio State among others. The 6-foot, 205-pound Harris is now Tennessee’s second-highest rated commit behind only massive offensive tackle Cade Mays.

Harris announced the news Friday afternoon with this video:

His junior season highlight reel should give you an idea of the type of unique size and speed combination that has so many nationally elite programs eager to have Harris on their side.

The Vols are back to having 10 total commitments lined up for the 2018 recruiting class. Harris’ commitment also pushes the team’s class rank to No. 7 in the nation and No. 2 in the SEC, behind only LSU.

Tennessee offensive line coach Walt Wells sure found an interesting way to celebrate the news. Here’s what Wells tweeted out after Harris committed to the Vols:
