Video: Tim Tebow lasts four pitches in first at-bat against Rick Porcello

It was never a fair matchup when reigning Cy Young award winner Rick Porcello squared off with former Florida Gators star Tim Tebow. Tebow may have two years of life experience on Porcello, including winning two BCS national titles and being on the cusp of another, but Porcello has eight major league seasons under his belt, and the experience showed on Wednesday.

Well at least Tim Tebow made it to four pitches? pic.twitter.com/rcG36TIEvp

Porcello only needed four pitches to strikeout the former Gators star, and he did so in the most unceremonious way possible. Amid the mass of camera phone-wielding fans and manufactured hype, Porcello struck Tebow out looking on four fastballs. To his credit, the final pitched did look a bit outside of the zone, and it’s to be expected that Tebow’s one season of Fall League ball wouldn’t prepare him for one of the best pitchers in the game.
On his second at-bat, Tebow grounded into a double play but received a roaring cheer anyway:
