Long-time Kentucky assistant Vince Marrow is reportedly switching sides in the Governor’s Cup rivalry. Marrow is joining the Louisville staff.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Marrow is set to be Louisville’s general manager, overseeing roster management, recruiting and the NCAA transfer portal.

Marrow, 56, has been on Mark Stoops‘ coaching staff for all 12 seasons in Lexington. He served as associate head coach and tight ends coach while also leading UK’s recruiting efforts as the Wildcats’ top staffer on the trail.

Losing Marrow is a significant blow for Stoops, who is trying to lead a bounce-back season at Kentucky after the Cats went 4-8 in 2024, finishing 15th in the SEC with a 1-7 record in conference play. UK’s 2024 woes included a 41-14 loss to Louisville, in which the Cardinals snapped a 5-game losing skid in the rivalry game.
