Alabama has yet to officially announce the addition of Holmon Wiggins to Nick Saban’s staff, but the former Virginia Tech wide receivers coach has updated his Twitter account to reflect his new gig. Now Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente has confirmed the news, congratulating Wiggins on climbing the coaching ladder.
Fuente made a statement which was shared via official VT Twitter accounts:
On behalf of our entire coaching staff, we appreciate the contributions that Holmon Wiggins has made to our program at Virginia Tech. I also appreciate the integral role in building our program at Memphis. We congratulate Coach Wiggins on taking the next step in his coaching journey. We wish he, Dominique and their wonderful family all the best at Alabama.
Wiggins was at Memphis 2012-15 and followed Fuente to Virginia Tech. He replaces Josh Gattis, who is now the offensive coordinator at Michigan.
