Tennessee announced Thursday that Tiyon Evans, who rushed for 120 yards in the Vols’ season opener against Bowling Green, may not be available this weekend to play against the Pitt Panthers.

According to Vols beat reporter Jimmy Hyams via Twitter, Evans may have to sit out due to health reasons, but those reasons weren’t given.  They are hopeful, however, that he will be available by Saturday:

Tennessee had two wide receivers who already missed the season-opener due to health issues, Jimmy Holiday and Ramel Keyton.

Hyams clarified later that Holiday did not miss the game with COVID-19 issues:

Coming out of high school, Evans was a 4-star running back who eventually signed with a community college.  When he left there, he was the No. 1 running back out of junior college.

The Vols kick-off against Pitt at 11 a.m. Central time on ESPN.
