Wade Taylor IV has missed the past 3 games for Texas A&M with an injury. Fortunately, it looks like the star guard could be on his way to a return on Saturday against LSU.

When the Friday night availability reports were dropped, Texas A&M did not list Taylor in any designation. That’s a sign he will be available to play, and it’s likely an increasingly positive update considering Buzz Williams’ comments earlier on Friday.

Addressing Taylor’s absence on Friday, Williams said that Taylor would play when he’s healthy, but the head coach also said he does not use doubtful, questionable or limited designations for his players. According to Williams, he doesn’t want to use any injured player until they are completely healthy, so it sounds like Taylor will be back in action.

If Wade Taylor does play vs. LSU, it will be interesting to see if he is able to go in his usual capacity. He leads the Aggies with an average of 30.2 minutes played in his 13 appearances this season and is the team’s leader in assists (4.8) and 2nd in points per game (15.7).

The absence of Taylor has been noticeable. It took a last-minute 3 from Zhuric Phelps for A&M to beat Oklahoma in Taylor’s first game out before back-to-back losses at the hands of Alabama and Kentucky.

At this point in the season, there is no shame in losing to those teams, but LSU presents a different equation. The Tigers are 1-3 in SEC play thus far with the lone victory coming against Arkansas with John Calipari’s squad dropping to 0-4 in the conference.

Saturday’s tipoff between Texas A&M and LSU is set for 8:30 pm ET on the SEC Network.
