Wade Taylor IV made sure Texas A&M didn’t let a road win slip away.

Taylor’s 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds left — just his 3rd of the day on 9 tries — lifted No. 10 Texas A&M to a 67-64 win over No. 15 Mizzou on Saturday, the Aggies’ 3rd win in a row and 5th in 6 outings.

Taylor, the Aggies’ leading scorer, finished with 15 points, none bigger than his game-winning triple with just shy of 2 seconds left in regulation that improved A&M to 18-5 overall and 7-3 in SEC play. The Tigers fell to 17-6 (6-4 SEC).

Texas A&M got off to a quick start, opening up a 12-0 lead 5-and-a-half minutes into the contest. Their lead, though, dwindled to 20-18 with 9 minutes to go in the frame before a 12-4 run put them up 32-22 with 4 minutes to go.

Mizzou, who went into the half trailing 38-29, responded, eventually taking a 56-51 lead with 7:18 left. But the Aggies punched back, taking a 63-60 lead with 1:43 to go before the Tigers went up 64-63 with 53 seconds on the clock.

Then, after Andersson Garcia went 1-of-2 at the line to tie it at 64 with 42 seconds to go, Taylor drilled a 3-pointer with 2.1 on the clock — the eventual game-winner.

Overall, the Aggies were 45.3% from the floor — 5-of-19 from 3-point range — while making good on just 14 of 23 trips to the line. Pharrel Payne led all scorers with 20 points, including 7-of-9 from the field. Zhuric Phelps joined Payne and Taylor in the double-digit club with 14, while Henry Coleman III totaled 6 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. Tamar Bates posted 16 points and Jacob Crews added 14 in a losing cause for the Tigers.

The Aggies return home on Tuesday to face Georgia. Mizzou, losers of two straight, hosts Oklahoma on Tuesday.
