Walker Howard may remain in the SEC West after all, according to a new report about the former LSU QB’s future.
Glenn Guilbeau of Outkick reported that Howard could transfer to Ole Miss as early as Tuesday or Wednesday, sources close to LSU and Ole Miss confirmed on Tuesday morning. Howard reportedly visited Ole Miss and TCU over the weekend.
Howard was the No. 42 prospect overall in the 2022 class and one of the first prospects of consideration for coach Brian Kelly after he was hired at LSU. He was the 5th-best quarterback in the class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
The 6-1, 195-pounder chose the Tigers over Florida and also had offers from the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
Howard is widely remembered as the recruit in a viral dance video of Brian Kelly from last offseason. With LSU returning Jayden Daniels and Garrett Nussmeier for next season, Howard looked elsewhere.
Howard appeared in 2 games last season, including the Citrus Bowl against Purdue when he was 2-for-4 passing for 7 yards, and 3 carries for 18 yards.
