Kentucky got the debut it was looking for from Wan’Dale Robinson in the Wildcats’ season opener against UL Monroe on Saturday.

A star at Frankfort (Ky.) Western Hills, about 30 miles from Lexington, Robinson was once committed to the Wildcats before ultimately signing with Nebraska. He turned in 2 strong seasons in Lincoln, recording 1,494 all-purpose yards and 7 touchdowns during his time with the Huskers. Last year, in 8 games, he ran the ball 46 times for 240 yards and a touchdown while making 51 catches for 461 yards and a score.

With his mother facing some health issues, though, Robinson opted to return to the Bluegrass State. And in his first game with the Wildcats, he made an immediate impact, hauling in 5 catches for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns from former Penn State quarterback Will Levis.

Here’s the first, which came after the Warhawks had taken a 7-0 lead.

Here’s the 2nd, coming with just under 6 minutes to go until halftime:

The Wildcats rolled past the Warhawks 45-10 at Kroger Field. Sure, they weren’t expected to struggle with the Sun Belt school, but the Wan’Dale Robinson era in Lexington is certainly off to a good start as his team’s now 1-0.
