The Washington Football Team was dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak recently, one that led to starting QB Taylor Heinicke missing Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Garrett Gilbert got the emergency start in that game, but now that Heinicke has been cleared to return, there’s some shuffling going on with the Washington roster.
After Washington signed former Ole Miss QB Jordan Ta’amu to the practice squad last week, it was announced on Thursday that he had been released:

Backup QB Kyle Allen is also expected to return from COVID protocols soon. Ta’amu served as a backup plan last week, but now he’s looking for another NFL job.
We’ll see what’s next for the former Rebel.
