WATCH: Alabama defender receives heartfelt gift to honor late father

If you know Alabama DB Marcus Banks’ background, you’re likely aware that he tragically lost his father in 2018. Banks’ girlfriend has made sure he never forgets the sounds of his father’s voice thanks to a heartfelt gift.
She shared a video this weekend on Twitter of Banks receiving an elephant stuffed animal sporting Crimson Tide gear. When pressed, it plays one of the last voicemails Banks received from his father, the late Bobby Meeks.
The video is accompanied by a tweet that reads, “so many of y’all know my boo dad passed march of last year and was a huge part of his life. So today i got him a elephant with alabama football outfit cause that’s where he goes with one of the last voicemails his dad sent him after a football game..❤️”
Meeks, who played offensive line at Florida State from 2000-04, passed in March 2018 due to complications from surgery. He was 36.
