WATCH: Alabama escapes near-disaster with miraculous fumble recovery for TD

This is going to be one of the most talked-about plays of the weekend.
In the words of the often unpopular Gary Danielson, Alabama has had a way of making the simple plays look difficult Saturday afternoon. That was the case again for Nick Saban’s squad on the last scoring drive. One yard out, it looked an easy run for one of the Crimson Tide’s big backs to punch it in.
The call was to RB Josh Jacobs, plenty big and strong, but complicating the play, he fumbled. The ball rolled into the end zone. Jacobs got his hands on it first, making it a touchdown because he was over the goal line. Because the ball got immediately punched out again and scooped up by Georgia, the refs had called it a touchback on the field. Replay, however, overturned it to a touchdown.
The Alabama touchdown cut Georgia’s lead to 21-14 late in the second quarter.
