WATCH: Alabama freshmen enjoy annual lake day with Nick Saban

One of Alabama’s annual traditions is for incoming freshmen to go out on the lake with coach Nick Saban.
The event drew plenty of headlines last year when Saban’s new boat ran out of gas, and the group was temporarily stranded. Saban welcomes players out to the lake three times each year: the leadership group, seniors and newcomers.
On water skis and tubes, it was all smiles for the Crimson Tide freshmen with Saban at the wheel of the boat as players wiped out and fell off the tubs and skis.
Plenty of teams do similar activities like this, be it at a nearby pool, or other extra-curricular activities as they adjust to the grind of preseason camp.
The activities on Lake Tuscaloosa were distributed by Alabama’s official Twitter account.
