Mental toughness was one area called into question following Alabama’s loss to Clemson in the national championship.
Beginning at SEC Media Days, coach Nick Saban suggested that there may have been distractions that took focus away from the team, be it NFL decisions or coaching moves. That appears to be the battle cry this season, and is front and center in this hype video that features an inspiring message from Saban in a meeting room.
Has the invincibility been stripped, as Stephen A. Smith suggests in the video, from a clip shortly after the national championship?
“Clemson, to me, saved college football last night,” Smith said.
The offseason countdown ramps up as the calendar turned to August and focus shifts to Alabama’s opener against Duke. It’s the first time Alabama is not ranked No. 1 in the coaches poll since the 2015 Iron Bowl.
