Mississippi State and Ole Miss players kept their cool for most of Thursday night’s Egg Bowl, but things took an ugly turn at the end of the third quarter.
Following a TD by Ole Miss’ AJ Brown — which was later called back due to time expiring in the third quarter, benches cleared and things nearly came to a brawl. Multiple players were ejected.

An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was called on every player on the field. Two Mississippi State players — Jamal Peters and Cameron Dantzler — were ejected for the incident. MSU LB Willie Gay was also ejected because he received an unsportsmanlike conduct earlier in the game. Ole Miss’ C.J. Moore was also ejected.
After all that, the TD was even called back. Mississippi State leads Ole Miss 28-3 to start the fourth quarter.
