WATCH: Bowl season just started but it’s going to be tough to top this absurd Camellia Bowl highlight

The first day of bowl season has featured a number of impressive and explosive plays, but none have been as crazy as this one.
Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee State are dueling it out in the Camellia Bowl Saturday night, and this play almost gave the Red Wolves a lead in the game. MTSU had completed a pass inside of Arkansas State’s five-yard line before an ASU player emerged with the ball.
No whistle was blown, and the player raced down the sideline and seemed destined to return it for a touchdown. Unfortunately, he fumbled the ball on the MTSU 15-yard line. The ball would eventually be recovered in the end zone by the Red Wolves and was ruled an Arkansas State touchdown on the field.
Sports Illustrated shared video of the insane play:

After review, the touchdown would be overturned. Arkansas State would be awarded possession on their own one-yard with the official ruling on the play being an interception with the defenders knee touching down after making the play.
It’s going to take a lot to produce a crazier play than that.
