Demetris Robertson was expected to be a big addition to the Georgia offense last season. The former blue-chip recruit and Cal transfer had all the tools to quickly integrate into the Bulldogs attack.
But in 2018, it never materialized and Robertson didn’t make a catch.
This year expects to be different.
In an interview with WSB’s Bulldogs Game Day, the Savannah, Georgia native explained what’s changed for him and the team since he arrived.
“Last year, just coming in one day before fall camp, I didn’t know the playbook as well, didn’t know the standard as well,” he said. “But now, been in the system for a year, and know Coach (Kirby) Smart’s standard. Be tough, physical, smart and prepared.”
In the 30-6 victory over Vanderbilt, Robertson had three catches for 23 yards and a TD. He also had two rushes for 29 yards, an indication that he appears to be a versatile weapon the Bulldogs plan to use all over the field this season.
He didn’t have a catch in 2018, but now that he knows @KirbySmartUGA‘s standard, @d_rob4 is ready to show what he can do! ⚡⚡
