If you forget to cover Calvin Ridley, he’s going to make you pay.
That’s what happened to the Carolina Panthers Sunday. A busted zone coverage assignment left Ridley wide open. Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan found the former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver for a 75-yard scoring play.
It was Ridley’s ninth touchdown reception on the season, tying an Atlanta rookie record. The Falcons went on to win 24-10 over the Panthers, bringing their record to 6-9 heading into the final week of the 2018 season. Atlanta and Alabama fans will be watching to see if Ridley can break the record in Week 16 when the Falcons take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
