Saturday was a great day for Charles Barkley. Shortly after his Auburn Tigers won a share of the SEC regular-season title, he got to host “Saturday Night Live” for the fourth time.
During the opening monologue, Barkley poked fun at himself, saying he’s been saying “whatever the hell I want” for the past 30 years and is still successful, while also commenting on other hot-button issues facing today’s athletes.
Here’s a video of the hilarious opening monologue, shared on YouTube by Saturday Night Live:
Barkley also played himself, alongside Alex Rodriguez and a fictional football player played by Kenan Thompson, in a skit called “The Champions,” which you can see below:
Barkley is clearly comfortable hosting SNL, and it’s likely that this won’t be the last time he hosts the popular show.
