But on the opening kickoff after South Carolina won the coin toss, Samuel returned the kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown against N.C. State. Samuel was hardly touched as he weaved through the would-be Wolfpack tacklers.
Samuel had a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown last season against Western Carolina.
For a player who’s battled hamstring injuries throughout his career, it’s safe to say the hamstring looked fine to start the game in Charlotte.
