Every year, the annual “Salt Bowl” rivalry between Bryant and Benton high schools in Arkansas draws thousands of fans.
However, on Saturday night, the game at War Memorial Stadium was called off early after a fight in the stands prompted major panic.
As you can see in the videos below, shared on YouTube by ArkansasOnline, fans were seen fleeing for the exits and players were sprinting across the field toward the locker rooms:
The fight broke out with about nine minutes remaining in the third quarter. Per a report from ArkansasOnline.com, there were some minor injuries resulting from the melee.
While two people were taken out on stretchers, it does not appear there were any gunshots fired during the brawl. Sadly, though, yet another high school football game this year has ended early due to violence in the stands.
