If you haven’t watched the popular Netflix movie “Bird Box,” you’re not alone. Nick Saban hasn’t watched the film either.
At Media Day for the national championship game, Saban was asked about having extra free time in the postseason and whether he uses it to relax or unwind. He answered it as you might expect.
“Not really,” Saban said. “I’d be open to suggestions if you have any. You’re trying to do the best you can for your team, and it takes a lot of time to prepare for these games, to prepare for practice, and try to keep people in the organization focused on doing what they need to do to continue to try to improve and there’s not a lot of time for other things.
“I can’t think of anything I’ve done recently that — I mean, maybe sitting in my chair watching TV for a half hour when I get home at 10:00 or 11:00 at night, but other than that, watching The Weather Channel in the morning, having a cup of coffee and two Debbie cookies with Miss Terry for 15 minutes, that’s about the extent of it.”
This opened the door for the reporter to follow up with a question about the film that has inspired all those memes you’re seeing on social media.
Q. Have you had a chance to watch Bird Box then?
NICK SABAN: No, I haven’t.
Does Nick Saban find time to relax during the College Football Playoffs? “I’d be open to suggestions if you have any.”
