Hudson Henry could have played football virtually anywhere he wanted.

The nation’s top-rated 2019 tight end recruit had offers from elite programs like Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State. But on Thursday, Hudson spurned all those suitors to stay in-state when he announced his commitment to Arkansas.

In appearance on Bo Mattingly’s radio show shortly after he revealed his decision, Henry broke down why he chose the Razorbacks over teams with recent national championships.

Henry — who plays for Pulaski Academy in Little Rock — obviously has a lot of pride in the state he calls home despite being born in Georgia, and it clearly influenced the decision. He’ll also continue his family’s legacy of suiting up for Arkansas, following father Mark and brothers Hayden and Hunter.

But it seems like the greatest factor in the decision was his desire to represent the state of Arkansas, and that’s got to be a good feeling for Razorbacks fans.
