The coolest new tradition in college football is, without a doubt, Iowa’s crowd waving to the children’s hospital next door to the stadium during home games.

Fans wave to the children between the first and second quarters of each game as the kids gather on the upper floors of the hospital and wave back.

It is a beautiful sight to see.

Now, the Hawkeye Marching Band is in on it — and taking the tradition a step further.

On Saturday before the Hawkeyes’ game against Illinois, the band assembled into a giant shape of a hand and moved back and forth to “wave” at the hospital.

It almost covered the entire field, giving the kids at the hospital their biggest wave yet.

Awesome.
