This season, South Carolina has frequently gotten off to slow starts and had to play from behind.
Although the Gamecocks would prefer for that not to happen, quarterback Jake Bentley said on Tuesday that the team doesn’t give up when in those tough situations.
“I think it’s just the resiliency that we have as a team,” Bentley told the media. “I think we really lean on each other when times get tough and it really just is a team effort. I think we need to start off better, and we may not always be in those situations, but it’s good for us. It’s good for us to be in those situations and know that we’re going to stick together and play. I think it’s just coming out swinging and do whatever it takes to win.”

South Carolina improved to 4-3 after its win over Tennessee this past Saturday. This week, the Gamecocks face Ole Miss.
In order to finish the season strong, South Carolina may need to get off to better starts. The Gamecocks play ranked opponents in two of their final four games — No. 13 Florida and No. 2 Clemson.
South Carolina and Ole Miss are set to kick off at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
