Offensive linemen may be under appreciated, but their job can still be rewarding.
Alabama’s star OL Jonah Williams discussed the issue during a Sugar Bowl media session on Thursday. According to Williams, coaches and analysts rave about the necessity of controlling the line of scrimmage but then spend the majority of time praising and recognizing skill players.
While Williams pointed out you must control the line of scrimmage in order to be effective, he did say that doing the dirty work on the OL can still be rewarding. Williams pointed out that playing OL is similar to Christmas for parents:
“It’s like a parent on Christmas,” said Williams. “You get joy from giving gifts as well.”

Hopefully Williams and the Crimson Tide O-line can give QB Jalen Hurts and other skill players a lot of “gifts” in the Playoff. Going up against Clemson’s defensive front will not be an easy task.
