College GameDay rolled into College Station to witness the first test of the Jimbo Fisher era but it wasn’t the coach that was the story, it was his quarterback.

Kellen Mond had a coming out party on Saturday night, showing off his impressive accuracy and poise under pressure despite constantly being threatened by Clemson’s outstanding defensive front. Despite being overmatched, the Aggies haven’t batted an eye all night and are hanging tight with the No. 2 ranked team in the nation.

Two plays from Mond really standout.

This throw wasn’t as impressive but the individual effort may have been as Mond was flushed from the pocket and still got off this pass to get the Aggies within one score:

Fisher may have been the biggest story in College Station heading into Saturday but that narrative may have been passed on to Mond after this impressive performance.
