The 1995 Georgia season began with plenty of optimism, thanks to an early rout of South Carolina in Williams-Brice Stadium, 42-23.

The season opener also featured three sacks of QB Steve Taneyhill by a young defensive back, Kirby Smart. It’s safe to say if Georgia gets that kind of performance on Saturday from another freshman, albeit true versus redshirt, say, Tyson Campbell, the Bulldogs will roll to a similar score.

The Ray Goff-coached Bulldogs went on to a 6-6 record that season, including wins over Clemson and Georgia Tech. South Carolina, coached by Brad Scott, finished 4-6-1.

This year’s Georgia-South Carolina game, the headline SEC game this week, will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
