WATCH: Mike Leach goes on rant about run-pass balance, calling it ‘stupid’

The Washington State Cougars picked up a win over Utah on Saturday night and did it with a grand total of zero rushing yards.
The Cougars did attempt to run the ball, but on 13 carries, they didn’t manage a single net yard on the ground.
On Monday, coach Mike Leach was asked about that lopsided run-pass balance, and went on another legendary rant, calling that sort of balance “50-percent stupid,” as you can see in the video below:

“There’s nothing balanced about 50-percent run, 50-percent pass, because that’s 50-percent stupid,” Leach said. “What is balanced is when you have five skill positions, if all five of them are contributing to the effort in somewhat equal fashion — that’s balanced. This notion that if you hand one guy 50 percent of the time and then you throw it to a combination of two guys the other 50 percent that you’re really balanced. You probably pat yourself on the back and tell yourself that. People have been doing that for decades. Well, then you’re delusional. That’s how I look at it.”
The Cougars probably won’t change much as the year goes on, either. They’ll live with the pass for as long as they can.
