WATCH: Mississippi State president thanks players for bringing Golden Egg Trophy back to Starkville
Mark Keenum is a happy man this Thanksgiving.
The Mississippi State president had to live all year with the fact the Bulldogs were upset in the Egg Bowl last season following Nick Fitzgerald’s injury and in Dan Mullen’s final game as Hail State coach. After a long wait, Keenum and MSU won’t be coming home empty-handed this year as the Bulldogs destroyed Ole Miss, 35-3 in Oxford on Thursday evening.
It’s pretty clear the moment was a special one for Keenum, as the MSU president personally thanked the team for providing the program’s fans’ their biggest win of the season by dominating Ole Miss.
Keenum even mentioned his first meeting with Joe Moorhead and the importance he placed on this game. A lesson Moorhead learned well and delivered on to end his first regular season in Starkville:
