Alabama head coach Nick Saban has appeared in a political ad for West Virginia U.S. Senator Joe Manchin.
“Joe and I grew up together in West Virginia and he never forgets where he came from,” Saban said. “I don’t have a better friend or know a better person than Joe Manchin.”
Along with Saban, NBA legend Jerry West and WVU basketball coach Bob Huggins also appear in the campaign ad.
According to AL.com, Saban gave Manchin $2,400 in 2010 to win the senate seat. The U.S. Senator is in a close race with state attorney general Patrick Morrisey. So, he had to pull out the big guns.
Having the best college football coach of all-time appearing in a campaign ad certainly can’t hurt his chances.
