WATCH: Officials rule controversial simultaneous catch in LSU’s favor

The LSU Tigers provided a big play to put themselves in scoring position early in the third quarter.
Tigers QB Danny Etling connected with WR D.J. Chark for a 47-yard gain against the Florida defense, but the play initially looked like an interception.
Florida DB Duke Dawson got his hands on the ball and looked to have control before Chark also got his hands on the ball during the play. The officials ruled a catch to LSU.
By rule, when two players come down with the ball simultaneously, the offensive player is awarded possession. This play did look a bit different, but ball and possession were awarded to Chark and LSU.

LSU did not waste the opportunity as the Tigers scored a touchown to increase their lead to 17-3:
