WATCH: SDSU’s Rashaad Penny broke Armed Forces Bowl longest rushing TD record on his first carry

It didn’t take long for Rashaad Penny to score in the Armed Forces Bowl.
Penny, a senior RB for San Diego State, made quick work of the Army defense in the bowl game. Facing a third-and-long early in the first quarter, Penny took a handoff on what began as a simple draw play. However, one quick move in the hole and a good block downfield cleared the way for a huge run.
Penny, who is also the nation’s leading rusher, scampered 81 yards in the blink of an eye for the game’s opening points. It was Penny’s first carry of the game, and he produced a highlight right out of the gate.

The Armed Forces Bowl announced that it was the longest rushing touchdown in the game’s history:
