WATCH: Special teams spark? Tennessee scores touchdown on block punt return
This could be the spark that Tennessee needed to open the floodgates on ETSU.
After a very sluggish start to the game, the Volunteers registered the first touchdown of the game in the home opener thanks to Marquill Osborne’s effort on special teams. The junior defensive back has yet to see much playing time in Jeremy Pruitt’s defense so far but he may have earned his coach’s good graces thanks to his play on special teams.
Late in the first quarter of the game, Osborne not only blocked a punt but returned it for a score to put the Volunteers up 10-0. The SEC Network’s Twitter account shared a video of the play, which can be viewed below:
