WATCH: Team goes wild when coach calls on sheriff’s department to surprise player with scholarship

The Missouri State football team likely didn’t know what was going on when a deputy from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department showed up after its scrimmage on Saturday. Some likely thought bad news was coming.
Instead, it was great news.
The team surprised walk-on Darrius Montgomery by having the deputy eventually tell him that he was being awarded a scholarship. After Montgomery finds out, the team goes wild, yelling and rushing toward Montgomery and past the deputy.
It was certainly a cool moment.
