WATCH: Tennessee DL Paul Bain hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams
Paul Bain has taken an unorthodox path to a major college football roster.
Whereas star recruits are often swimming in scholarship offers, Bain has worked two jobs to support himself for the last few years as a walk-on at Tennessee. Despite such a heavy workload, the senior defensive lineman has muscled his way into the Volunteers’ two-deep, and teammates even said he earned a scholarship last week.
Bain wants his story of perseverance to motivate others, and he shared a bit about his journey while meeting with reporters Monday.

Perhaps best known for his blocked field goal to force overtime against Georgia Tech in last year’s season opener, Bain has continued contributing this season, most notably with a fumble recovery in Tennessee’s season-opening loss against West Virginia.
