WATCH: Tennessee OL Trey Smith explains how RB Tim Jordan’s breakout performance inspired him

In an otherwise disappointing Week 1 loss for the Tennessee Volunteers, sophomore RB Tim Jordan broke out in a big way, running for 118 yards on 20 carries and scoring a touchdown.
Jordan’s big day has been celebrated by his teammates, including star OL Trey Smith, who said he was inspired by the running back’s performance.
As you can see in the video below, Smith says Jordan’s hard running makes him want to be more violent with his blocking:
Trey Smith told me watching Tim Jordan's aggressive runs Saturday inspires him to be better: One guy is not going to tackle Tim. It's going to take at least two and that's if you're lucky." #Vols pic.twitter.com/cFTmyRZGxF

“It fires me up,” Smith said. “It also inspires me to be better. There are a lot of times I need to be more violent, finish more. Seeing Tim throw that arm, that extra step at the end, it fires me up. It tells me I need to do my job better, too.”
An inspired Smith is a scary thing for the rest of the SEC. Combine that with Jordan’s penchant for breaking tackles and the Vols’ running game could be something to watch the rest of the year.
If you missed this stat from over the weekend, Jordan led the nation in missed tackles forced in Week 1:
