WATCH: Tennessee sprinter Christian Coleman beats Usain Bolt in 100m Semifinal

University of Tennessee sprinter Christian Coleman beat Usain Bolt in the 100M semifinal Saturday.
Coleman used a strong start off the blocks to narrowly hold of the 100M and 200M world record holder. Coleman’s official time for the race was 9.97 seconds, still nearly half a second short of Bolt’s world record time of 9.58 seconds.

It was Bolt’s first lost in a 100M race since 2013.

Coleman and Bolt will face off in the finals Saturday evening in London. The 21-year old Coleman is looking to dethrone Bolt in what is likely the last race of the Jamaican’s storied career.
