College basketball season begins in earnest Tuesday night, and nine games around the SEC are set to tip off.
SDS has compiled an in-depth guide to the season here.
Tennessee’s hype video below dramatically explains how players, coaches and fans come together for a symphonic performance.
There is plenty of reason for optimism across the league, and Tennessee is at the top of the list as the Vols begin the season No. 6 in the Associated Press poll, the highest it’s ever been ranked in preseason program history.
The Vols return 14 players, including all five starters, from a squad that advanced to its first NCAA Tournament since the 2013-14 season.
The Vols tip off with Lenoir Rhyne, coach Rick Barnes’ alma mater, at 7 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
Kentucky was the highest-ranked SEC team at No. 2, followed by Tennesse, Auburn at No. 11, Mississippi State at No. 18 team and LSU No. 23.
Of course, the marquee game of Tuesday is Kentucky against Duke, a top-five matchup, in Indianapolis, the teams with the top two recruiting classes from the most recent class.
