WATCH: Tua Tagovailoa couldn’t have thrown this pass any better

Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa is a special player — that much is obvious.
But what takes a quarterback from good to great is the ability to throw receivers open. Against elite defenses, there isn’t going to be much separation between receivers and defensive backs, so quarterbacks have to put the ball in the perfect spot.
As you can see in the video below, Tagovailoa did just that in the first quarter against Tennessee, hitting WR Jaylen Waddle on a 77-yard touchdown pass:

Waddle was double-covered, but Tagovailoa’s throw rendered that coverage irrelevant.
Enjoy him while you can, Alabama fans, because he’s looking like a lock to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
