WATCH: UCF AD Danny White says the Knights are the national champs after Peach Bowl win

The UCF Knights completed their undefeated season on Monday afternoon in the Peach Bowl, taking down the Auburn Tigers 34-27 in Atlanta.
The Knights now have a win over an Auburn team that took down both Georgia and Alabama this year — two College Football Playoff squads.
After the game, UCF AD Danny White was feeling good about his squad, declaring them national champs in the video below:

Obviously, the actual national champion will be determined via the Playoff, but it is interesting that back in the pre-BCS era, the Knights probably could have legitimately claimed to be champions following a year like this.
This year, though, they’ll have to settle for a 13-0 record and a big win over a very talented Auburn squad.
